When I do my rebuild here shortly my friend suggested that I port and polish my head and intake manifold. How much power does this realy give? Have any of you guys done it, how much was it? Also how much did you all pay to ballance your engine after rebuild? Sorry for such generic questions but I am on a budget and need to know what is most important and what is a waste of money. Thanks, Patrick

I paid 150$ for mine to be done. Don't know if it really helped at all much, I think the car retains more power at the top end mabey. Of course that was a couple of years ago.

I've got a buddy that is learning how to do that in Tech school pretty quick. He said he would do a port & polish job on the head and intake for somewhere between $20-50. He is supposed to be trained to do that stuff in like 6 weeks. I could talk to him for you if you want. Maybe when he's ready you could ship it out to him to have it done?

i was able to get a p&p mani basically for free.. u just have to be in the right place at the right time... ARD down in houston, TX does its for around 80 bux.. prolly more like ~100 after your done w/shipping, etc...
i recently installed it (like saturday) and made this thread..
gains, well, i get a whoosh when i open up the butterfly on the t/b (step on gas) my air filter hisses even louder at idle, pulls hard all the way to fuel cut, and the top end (highway battlin) is more fun...
its definately a good mod, and it helps out if you have a bored throttle body, and aftermarket intake.
i am actually surprised that the turbo guys dont preach about portin their air intake path... im not turbo yet, and i dunno if most of em already got a p&p mani and a bored t/b but when your crammin air in, u wanna cram as much as easily (w/lil or no restriction) as possible....
im still learnin, but it definately helps them honduhs see my baby's sexy ass
i dunno crap about balancin engines and what not, so ill shutup now
good luck tho
