Looks like there is talk of having Howell carry aftermarket products for the NVG 350 tranny and there is a 4.12 gear available for the final drive! }>

The 4.12 is not available for domestics yet. I am however working on getting a performance package out there. It would consist of an new output shaft and ring gear. It will fit in the current 3.55 and 3.94s.

Any chance of being able to purchase replacement sychro assy. from you or howell auto? I could use them. What about purchasing the individual gears so I can change my 5th gear to te .72 or should I just stick with finding a donor tranny?

I'm working on getting all that stuff out there. Gonna take some time though. I'm hoping within two months.

yes a syncro kit would definately be alot easier than having to get a whole new first few gear assembly as i have heard is the only way..

Having had mine done, I am under the impression you must swap out the final drive when you do the 5th gear. I do not think it is an option to choose one or the other. Armond would better know so I can check with him.

This isn't a 5th gear swap, it is however, a final drive swap. It consists of the Output shaft and Ring gear. The case requires some shimming for preload on the taper bearing.

I was referring more specifically to Fast420A's request for a taller 5th gear. I do not think it can be swapped out individually. I need to verify that for sure though. A new higher final drive is a good option for those that are going all motor. With the torque my motor produces I went the other way to a 3.55 to help combat wheelspin.

Hey Murix, I've already talked to Armond about it, plus my tranny is in pieces as we speak. You can just change the 5th gears (Drive gear and Speed Gear) and leave the 3.94 Final Drive.

As far as the Final Drive goes, I would be very interested in a higher final drive ASAP.
