Off the line she's not nearly as perky as she used to be. I have an oil leak somewhere, so i'm wondering if that may be causing it. I'm gonna change my plugs soon and possibly my wires. Thinking about platinum or iridium plugs and some magnecore wires.

Last night my oil light kept coming on and off and she started making a funny noise in 1st and 2nd gear at 3-4k rpm. Kinda sounds like a big diesel truck, like a really rapid pinging. I'm thinking something might be loose, but not sure. Got the oil changed today and the guy at the texaco express lube said my rear main seal was leaking and it was common in neons and such. He made it sound like it was no big deal, but i talked to my dad and he said it was a very big deal. You guys have ANY ideas or suggestions? I know i'll probably have to take it to satan.

I'm worried about my baby. TIA

I had same problem, I apprently found out way too late and by that time I had to purchase another motor.
But if it is the same problem as me you might want to check out the Tech section under 2GNT's main web page, where is says Head Gasket Leaking.

I agree with Randy, I've spun 2 bearings in mine at different times. I'm sure if you had checked the oil before it was changed it would be very low. Most oil chage places I've been to will tell you it's a rear main seal leak when they see any oil leak.

If you do have a spun bearing then DO NOT rev the engine past 4k but NOT driving it is the best thing.

A spun bearing can allow the rod to touch the block an that means a nice rod sized hole in the block. :o

I've done it before and it's not fun.
