I just had my head gasket done and ball joint recall done cost me 95 bucks under extended warranty, now they say I need a wheel bearing and that they can't change it because the axle or the knuckle is seized. and it might come out if they hammer on it, but might break, they say if it breaks its not covered but if they get it out fine it is. So how muc is a new passenger side axle and knuckle?

wait a freaking minute.. they said "if we hammer it out and it breaks, it's not covered" BULL SHIT. if they are working on your car trying to fix something and THEY break something, THEY have to fix it FREE OF CHARGE, they are just trying to rip your ass off. your axle is seized? you drove it in right? you couldn't have driven your car into the shop with a seized axle.. that kinda shit pisses me off. tell them to fix it under warrenty and if it breaks it's their fault and they'll have to pay for it, I highly doubt they'll break it when ya say that to them.

hell, even if you didn't drive it in and the axle is seized, if it would have been covered under your warrenty, but while they are doing the work they break it, they can't move that cost over to you. That's would be like a place rotating the tires on your car and they accidently run the tire over a nail and give ya a flat.. are you gonna pay to have that fixed? F#$% NO. They are gonna fix it free of charge.

I work at the dealer ship so I had the tech tell me what happened and he said that the axle is rusted into the hub and it is common and he does not want to attempt to put the new bearing in because the axle will mushroom around the outer hub and not com out ever. I can get a new axle for 50 bucks plus core $60. I'm still drivin it though. Even with my employee rate the axle is still 400 dollars for the assembly that I need. My belts are also squeeking since they took them off and put them back on he also said this was normal. How hard are the belts to do myself?? I'm pretty handy, just not handy enoughto do a head gasket job
