Alright this is the second time this has happened to me. I have the electrical Autometer oil pressure gauge (0 - 100psi). Under idle it sits at 25psi, normal acceleration between 55psi and 60psi, and under WOT till about 5,500 rpm it reads 75psi which are all normal numbers. When I get up in the rpm's more, like between 6,000 and 6,500 the needle will jump past 100psi fall back and it keeps doing this untill I shift (I never shift later than 6,500 btw, and that is only when I race which isn't very much so I don't do this everyday). Anyway I was coming home form Tampa going over the bridge turning about 6,000 rpm's in third gear, just when I was about to shit into fourth I saw the needle jump past 100psi then fall below zero, fuck there goes the sender unit again, this is the second time this has happened to me since I got the gauge about a year ago.
Do I really pushing that much oil pressure to be blowing out these senders. That is the right gauge I need right the 0 to 100psi one? Why is it jumping up over 100psi? I am hate changing out that sender unit.

My oil pressure NEVER see's over 100psi UNLESS the car is just started and I get on it. Although, it will provide just a bit more power because its a cold engine, it can also harm the engine because oil has not circulated yet. If your getting over 100psi oil once the car has warmed up, you might want to check that out. I dont know what to check but see if the gauge is actually working correctly. I HAVE NEVER broke a sending unit for oil pressure gauge, ive had one for 3 years.
