Every UDP i've ever seen is 'undampened' including the AFX one. There is a small argument over what it actually does. I've read in many places the dampeners are to help reduce 'spring-back' in the crankshaft by using the dampener and accessor pulleys, to prolong the life of the crank shaft. Othe people say that it's just to keep you from feeling the vibrations from the accessors turning on and off. In either case.. I didn't feel anymore vibrations with my UDP. and in the other scenario (the crankshaft life) it wouldn't come into play until well over 100K miles.
