A while back...my car sort of backfired through the intake it felt like...and then for a while it would take a while to accelerate from start off...but once it "caught on" it would go...and when you started the car it sort of stumbled I guess...but it would start...I posted on the board and was told to replace plugs and wires...and I did that...now it starts up fine sometimes and sometimes it stumbles a little...and very occasionally it will still take about 5 seconds to catch on to accelerate...could that be a problem with the ignition coil...or what...someone even told me to check my timing belt...I don't know what could it be?

Josh

Could be the coil. Could also be something to do with the fuel system.. althought I don't know what exactly causes a condition like that, my old pickup used to do that alot but it was carburated and had too small of a carb on top (little 2-barrel ontop of a 390ci isn't quite enough.. hehe)

Could also be that your plugs are gapped too wide.
