I haven't done it yet, but I would recommend setting a weekend aside to tackle the project, just in case. Definately do it with a manual handy. There are a lot of little steps and not a whole lot of space to work in our engine bays. BUt I would start like a Saturday morning and leav Sundayopen if you run into problems and it takes longer. I will do this when I have saved money for head works cams etc.

To keep it simple it is a big pain in the ass! Tons of stupid things that just don't make sence at all. And I think unless you really know what you are doing and have done it before it's gonna take longer than just a 2 day weekend. And while you are working on it make sure you have something to punch around you... lol
If you are gonna do it and need help, e-mail my bf, he replaced mine (and those 2 weeks of doing that were the worst in our relationship... lol) his e-mail is Talon@turbologic.net

...it is not a job for the timid and will take some time. You will also need an upper engine gasket kit (complete cylinder head Gasket kit)

Forget chiltons...its a joke.

Get a service manual. If you dont have one, dont even think about it.

Did anyone get around the problem of the side motor mount bolts being too long to clear the side of the body besides either dropping the whole engine (i.e. disconnect drive shafts) or drill through the side panel to clear the bolts?
