just wondering, what is the fastest all motor eclipse? and what hp range. I'm also wondering about aparrently a new turbo kit for our cars. can't remember what someone called it. Oh yeah, i remember a long time ago, someone was talking about taking a super charger off of some car, and fabricating it to work on your motors. this was quite some time ago, and i just was wonder what was going on with that deal. i think the a a sequential boost system with a super for low end and a turbo for high end would be cool.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

Supposably there was a guy working on a spercharger for our cars, but some company bought the idea and started working on it themselves. Ive also heard this was just rumour so who knows, maybe one of these guys does.

I dont think there are many documented fast all-motor eclipses. The fastest Ive heard was ~low to mid 15's or something. Hopefully that will change soon, sounds like there are a lot of people working on some great all-motor machines, hopefully I ca contribute to this segment down the road!

sOmEoNe ran a 14.8 all motor with slicks, supposedly, but no one has shown a time slip for that run. As of right now 15.5 is the fastest but that won't last but a few months at the most. }>

It shouldn't be that hard to get an allmotor car into the 13's. We have street Neon's running 13.5's on motor with full interior.

Maybe with a HIGHER REDLINE with an AFX ECU and we can do it.

As for the supercharger.. Jackson Racing has came out with or is coming out with a supercharger for the pt cruiser.. lets see how on top of things they really are and see if they make 1 for our platform.

somebody on here as 15.1 1/4mile all motor in their sig.. i forgot the name of the dude.

And yeah, they got neon's down low.. but they are alot lighter. Hell.. we got zx2's (which have a base HP, less then an eclipse '130HP') all motor that are mid 14's without too much work. just a head package, intake and exhaust.
I don't see why an eclipse couldn't get there without either a little more work or some good lightening.

It's Called weight. We can make more NA power than some other cars on the road but it takes time and power to get our heavy ass's moving!

Take it from someone who got his ass handed to him by a stock 92hp civic hatch.

It's all power to weight ratio.

Well, just check out below for my mods and times. Note that all I have is bolt ons, and I don't have all of the bolt ons you can do. Most people hae not put inthe extensive $$$ needed to make an all motor fast car, because turbos are the wonderful things that they are emoji

I have no idea what HP I have, best guess at least 170 to the crank shaft (due to the fact my car, with me, weighs at least 2890 lbs and I've run 15.5s), but that is purely speculation.

As far as I know, I'm the second fastest all motor 2GNT by 2 thousandths, Jake Martin has run 15.587 (with one hell of a 60' time), to my 15.589, he's got a pic to prove it, I've got a time slip to prove mine, and I think a friend has a video of my best run.

I've heard of a 15.1 run, a 14.9 run, AND a 14.8 run, but no time slips to any of them.

But, when this wednesday comes by, if the weather holds, and I don't screw up, I should be able to drop that time a few hundredths thanks to some better tuning emoji

then next month, I'll have another power mod...

then the month after that I'll have another power mod...

then, at least one more mod for power after that, maybe two before the year is out, and I will still have left the head alone on the car! (only one internal mod in the plan so far)

heh heh heh, now that the car is payed off, it's time to get a little more serious with the mods. I only dropped about a quarter of a second this past season (only two "power" mods: the SFAC which was wired up poorly until the end of the season and wasn't tuned well until now, and the extrude honed intake), and only 4/10ths the season before, I need MORE SPEED! I've gone slowly and carefully with the mods, and last year after the shootout the times kept dropping little by little as I kept racing with the intake manifold (and then the big drop at the end of the season) so I didn't add anything else last year.

I think some good 1/4 mile times can be had while still having a fully streetable daily driver, that gets good gas mileage (I've gotten 37 mpg with my car on two occations), and is a full weight car. I've already gotten to 15.5s and I have a LONG way to go, but I'll get there.

yes, power to weight ratio is everything (well almost everything)
I guess what I'm saying is I know several all motor ways to put my little 130HP engine over 200HP (at the crank)
Another thing though.. is that the zx2 community is much more into all motor. like the same ratio that the eclipse community is into turbos.. hehe.
From what I can tell it doesn't take anymore work.. and not much more money to build a fast all motor car as it does to build a fast turbo car. atleast what the zetec motor.

ZETEC, thats a variable valve thing right? If so you've got the help of larger high rpm cams.Power to weight really only helps in 1st and up to mid-high 2nd gear since we are not accelerating as fast. This is where drag starts to play out, luckily we have a .29 drag ratio. Of course power-weight ratio is important, its about 50% of the equation, thats why some of those nice lightweight body panels are a good idea. Using my car test program I can see that losing 300lbs gives a .7 sec 0-60mph loss, but only .4 sec off the 1/4 mile, this is equal to having 170 crank HP in the program. Doing both is the best yeilding 1 sec off the 0-60 and 1 sec off the 1/4 mile. Of course losing 300lbs will cost some high amount of money and a slight loss of comfort.

Naw, zetec is not a varible cam thing, It's actually the name/designation of the motor.. like 420a or 4g63. My particular zetec (in the zx2) has VCT (variable cam timing) on the exhaust cam, but it is only for emissions purposes and not for performance. most zetec's do not have the VCT. also the VCT on my car only advances or pulls the timing of the exhaust cam (up to 30 degrees amazingly enough).. it doesn't have a seperate set of cam lobes like the VTEC or VVT-i of honda's and Toyota's.

Still noone has replied about the sequential boost system with a super and turbo charger. NM, i'll post in the turbo section. Btw, some of you guys runnin 15.5's or so, i don't see cam gears in your lists. time for so more compression and a stroker kit.

haha...a person could lose a little weight themselves and that would reduce the total weight of the car or have someone lighter race for them.

lolz those short ass people are like 4 foot tall. if they stood up the horses head would be higher. uh, are our cam gears like vtec's system, except we'd have to get out constantly and adjust them to be even simmilar right? or am i talking out my @$$ again :-b

VTEC hasn't been able to advance or retard the cam timming until just the past year. it's main thing is that it basically runs two different cam profiles at the same time.. one for low end.. and one for high end. only way to deplicate it.. is with VTEC.. hehe.

Well, my picture in my signature isnt working. It usually shows a pic of me at thet rack with a burnout and my 1/4 time. For mods and time, look below. Note: When I ran my 15.5, I didnt have the UDP, clutch, shifter, or the new rear shocks,..mine were blown at the time of the run. I also was using my cracked/broken Tenzo Short ram. I have an AEM cai now. I think with a good launch, and the new header, solid motor mount I'm putting on soon I could easily hit some low low 15's.
