Well today I spent over 700 bucks for a new timing belt, water pump, and a new ac tensiour. That sucks, but now i need a new valve cover gasket. Is that hard to replace?? I dont want to spend another 200-300 bones on a new one. If anyone has done it, pls let me know.

They aren't hard to do. You can go to NAPA to get the gasket(s). Since it will be your first time it will probably take a little over an hour to do.

Hey wassup!!!

Charlie redid our gasket when we polished the valve cover its real easy and he said he would walk ya through it.....about 30 minutes to remove and replace!! Yes do get it from napa the valve cover gasket is like 13.00 bucks and the spark plug hole seals are like 3 bucks apiece total of about 25 dollars...

Also where did you get your timing belt work done? We just put a new tranny and a Centerforce stage 3 clutch in and we vowed never again to do our own work!!! emoji

I got mine done at Master Tune and Lube on 9th ave. I took it in early and they had it all done at 5. I should have waited, but the timing belt had 100,000 miles on it and when I looked at it it was about gone. The water pump was also leaking. I also had to get the A/C Pully replaced. That was a pretty penny. did napa have the parts in stock or did they have to order it? I also heard that some eldebrock Gaska something or another is good to put on it cause it wont leak. Not too sure about that though. How long do I have to wait before I can drive the car after I get the new gasket on?? I want to do it tomorrow but I have to be at work at 4. Let me know

They had the gasket in stock and you can drive it immediately!! No need to use an RTV sealant or anything...very simple, no need to get edelbrock gaskets the one NAPA has is perfectly fine.Di you get the water pump replaced when you got your timing belt done? if so was it included in the price you stated?

NEVERMIND I answered my own question, but did they get the parts or did you supply them?

Valve cover is done!! It only took about 30 min to do. Very easy. They supply the parts. It will cost less than mine unless your AC pully is broke like mine was then it will cost you 140 bucks more. It only took them about 6 hrs to do the car. Not very long at all. If you have any ?'s email me. I will give you my cell. what are you doing tonight?? I have to work, but afterwards I want to do something. Let me know
