Anyone every use one of these??? If so....What grit did you use on your cylinders??
Its strange most Auto shops only carry the 120 grit. That seems like a little too much drag on new rings I am not sure, I was thinking more like 220, or better yet 320...

If you use too fine of a grit, then the rings will never seal. Example: As an option, people can buy Chrome Moly rings. If the cylinder is honed with a ball hone that contains silicon then it's like trying to sand oil down with more oil--no "seating" has taken place, just two well lubed items sliding against eash other.(no pun intended)

WOW!!! Dude that is really cool of you to do that!!! I wish I had read this earlier... Thanks!!! But, I just ordered the 320 grit.. That is the grit my local michine shop guy's told me to use ,and the place I ordered from said that they work with Hasting alot and that my "New" Hasting ring will live fine @ 320 grit.. BTW I live in Cincinnati

cool cool, if the machine shop recommends it then it should work okay. i am using total seals and they recommended 220, but i just got the 180 cause my friend who rebuilds semi engines recommended me to use that grit for those rings. lates james
