#1846, "rpm 8100 ??????"

ok i know this may be an obvious question but i am gonna ask anyway. what all do i need to get upgraded on my car to get a redline of 8100 besides a new ECU ?

i already have cam gears...new cams? crank? pistons? rods? rockers and lifters and stuff ??? i dont know alot about the inside of the engine (or the engine overall) but i would think that these would need to be replaced. also what is the best place to get cams, rockers, lifters, springs what ever is inside under the valve cover. new valves??? i really like the idea of a higher redline but dont know when howell wil ever give us a fricken ecu to support it. BUT when they do i want to be ready. also in the winter i get a knocking noise or ticking noise which i was told my a mechanic was a rocker .... anyone else have this prob?

dude you are a auto ...honestly going up that high will fry it .. really really quick ..what u want is a tq converter .. it will make u 1 second faster those 2200 rpms through 3500 are slower than shit in our cars... thats what kills u !! all the mods in the world could be in your car but u are only as good as your tranny LETS u be so upgrade that first ...hey how did u launch when running against klip ? did u hold down the pedal so it kept bouncing off the stall speed or did u time the throttle ? holding the pedal and hitting the stall speed could hurt your launch big time .. and never shift through the gears let the cpu do that

uhhh i held the brake in and floored it so that i started to pull forward and then when the light went green i left of the brake and pushed the pedal to the medal...also i let the cpu shift and didnt put od on. it is really wierd now.... my auto used to shift at like 5.5 to 6 and it really sucked...now it is shifting right at 6.5 everytime and that is even if i left off the gas a little before 6.5 ??? does our cpu for the tranny "learn" when to shift according to our driving like in the 3g's? my friend has a 3g gt and shift tronic trans and it will learn when to shift according to your driving so the shift tronic really isnt that nice. it wont stay in gear like a stick will... yeah i am offically saving for a complete level 10 tranny. i dont want to rev to 8100 but i would like to go to 7.5 redline ??? is that possible with an auto and them mods and crap i was talkin about?

the level 10 tranny as opposed to a tuned stock tranny should well hold that rpm range as long as u specify that u are going to have that range !!
ive noticed and so have a few others that if you launch and not hold the stall speed - meaning that the second it hits 2100rpms release as opposed to holding it and reving and waiting at 2200 ...anyway at least u taught him in the 60 ft ~~!!~~ how many miles on that tranny btw

...you're an auto. You would also have to get the TCM reprogrammed to shift later for you inlcuding the TC mods

i wouldnt know ... but im willing to find out .. skrilla would you know anything about this ? i could see having just the tq converter hurting the tranny but slowly ..like any mod that increases performance you are going to lose practicality and most likley cause more wear and tear ... thats only if you power break constantly

agreed i was going to get just the tq converter but you figure you start pulling hard it is gonna reak havoc on your seals. btw i have 67000 miles on my tranny. i figured if you get the tq converter you should probably get their performance rebuild kit <---452.25 and the tq converter<---598.00. they also can add the option of a shifttronic trans so that you can safely shift manually with your auto and it sticks in the gear you have it in !!!!!! sounds good to me. so you got a little over a grand for just the tq and then labor to install...SUCKS. then if you want the tranny cpu so that you can shift like a manual that is another 1000 bucks. so now you are at 2000 dollars and that is without labor and the mechanic has to rebuild the tranny and reinstall it. i figure it will cost prob just as much if not more than getting the whole tranny and having a mechanic just swap out trannys. 2864.00 for the whole tranny with all this shit done to it. i am going to call them prob tomorrow morning for a complete list of what is done to the tranny and stuff. if we get a grp but the price may go down ??? i'll check and post later

I haven't the slightest clue on where to start looking for the TCM to be reprogrammed, and if I did find a place it probably wouldn't be ready until 2030

LOL well the tcm will still only let me rev limit at 6.5 then? if so that is still ok but i want to be able to have all the parts beefed up so if i ever sell the level ten tranny i am saving for and get a manual conversion or get a 99 eclipse when my talon has too many miles i can start a parts swap or something like that ???
