#18406, "pacseter cut and weld question?"

i was wondering if it would be a better idea to buy a pacseter cat back and cut the muffler off and weld my own obx or other muffler on it or would it be better to just makee my own piping?

It should cost about the same for either. It may be quite difficult to find a shop that can do mandrel bends, though... in which case the pacesetter would be the way to go.

If it's too loud then have the shop weld a 24" Cherrybomb glasspack resonator in the cat-back while they're doing the muffler.

I have an OBX muffler and with the silencer in place its not that loud. It wasnt much louder, if at all, than the pacesetter muffler. Since I put it on though, I have put a sub in my car and I could hardly hear it so I took the silencer completely out of the exhaust and I love it. Ive heard imports louder than mine though so Im not tripping over it. I say go for the OBX muff, but get one with a silencer like my B5

If you can weld and have a weekend to kill, then go the JCWhitney route. If you want to finish in a couple of hours, buy the Pacesetter. I used 2.5 pipe from Whitney, $19 glasspack, $51 dynomax bullet race muff, and 12 pack. I'm gonna guess that I spent $100 bucks on the deal. I had a tip already.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

I have the Pacesetter exhaust with an Apexi N1 muffler and I love it. The Pacesetter was too loud, but it looked like ass. Its loud, but not too loud/ricey at all. Sounds very nice.
