The MatriX Mega Tube intake, have any of you heard of it, or better yet have any of you tried it? I was just wondering because I am planning on buying an intake in the very near future. I am just shopping around now...

my suggestion is always the same on intakes, if it has a name on it, youre paying too much. its extremely difficult to make a low-quality intake, its just a pipe and filter and almost all of them use a K&N filter element. go to ebay and get one of the no-name cold-air intakes, theyre chrome, $89, and the same as the aem in every way except the $150 markup for the logo. brand names, especially AEM make great parts, but you dont NEED those brands.

From what I hear from reading this site the stock muffler from the GST is actually the best for our cars and there cheap at the junk yard (like $40).

i bought the cheap ass apc intake from jc whitney. it cost me 53.00 filter included. im pretty sure its about as good as anything out there. the only thing i can think of to explain the price difference is some kind of heat reflecting coating on the higher priced ones. all in all im happy with my cheapie intake though.

The difference was between cold air and under hood air. All under hoods are about the same and all cold airs are about the same.

I had a Profile short tube first and it worked great for the 60 bucks I paid for it. The only difference between that and the AEM I have now is where the air is coming from, of course a cold air will give a tad bit more power than an underhood sortstack because of the colder intake air, other wise like was said in another post, underhoods are all the same and cold airs are all the same....the only CAI I'm wondering about is the Arospeed because of how it mounts and the ram-air effect of it compared to the AEM.....

AEM CAI
Pace Setter
Magnacore 8.5 MM Plug wires
EBC Green Stuff pads
Waiting on AEM Cam Gears to arrive
