what is the difference between 4-1 and 4-2-1...besides the tubes and all...I'm looking for performance vs. cost...is it worth it to get the 4-2-1?...I heard Air-Mass is a good company to go with (just need some info before I commit to anything)...

Okay, 4-1 keeps the runners apart for a longer time which helps to increase the top end HP because the exhaust gases are not forced together until later on which slows everything down.
The 4-2-1 header combines the 4 runners in to 2 first before going into 1 which costs you some top end HP but helps to increase the torque in the low end range. Some guys with A/T like the 4-2-1 better since they don't get to use the higher RPM band due to the A/T shifting at a lower RPM.
However, it's important to note on Hotshot 4-1 headers (which many here have), the 4 join into 1 pretty soon. Traditionally, for other cars, the 4-1 would join lower almost near the cat. Our's join less than a foot from the engine, and you can see the collectors join. So I really don't think it woulc make that much difference between the two.

I have to agree with him on that one, MOST 4 - 1 headers out there go all the way to the cat. All of the 4 - 1 headers I have seen for the 2gnt join too soon but at least you get a larger downpipe than stock.
