Anybody running with an AEM CAI and bypass valve? How did you install that bypass valve?

I am looking into getting the AEM CAI and bypass valve soon, from my understanding you have to cut your intake pipe to install the bypass valve.

I called AME and they said I would have to cut the intake. I wonder how hard it will be?

Ya all new AEM cold air intakes are one piece for our cars, which is why you have to cut it. It's been that way for at least a year now.

I have the AEM CAI. Mine is a 1 piece. I don't have the Bypass Valve installed because when I took it to get it put on the guy said I wouldn't need it. It is only effective if you completely submerge the filter.

So what do you do when your filter gets wet? I don't want to start my engine cold and suck water into it.

my freind with an aem cai went through three inches of water and grenaded his engine. I wouldn't throw one on without a bypass valve.
