ok.. been about 2-3 weeks now since when i changed out my intake manifold with a ported and polished intake manifold.. ever since then i noticed that my idle was weird.. fluctuating and such and idling high like 1k most of the time.. you can hear hissing coming from like the lower half of the manifold down where the injectors and fuel rail are.. today i try to find out if maybe i didnt tighten a few bolts on the lower half to the head.. did that but hissing is still there.. my question is has this happened to anyone else when changing out the manifold.. there are new gaskets, but i guess its possible that i didnt clean the old gasket off from the head when putting it back on.. any input is appriciated.. thanks

after i installed my bored t/b, my intake hisses at idle.
did u reset your ecu?? right after the install, my idle was fugd up for about a day while the ecu learned.
if your hiss is down below, maybe a gasket went bad, or it isnt sealed up right lettin extra air in. i would use a feather, or a light peice of material, and look for where it gets sucked to at idle.

I agree with vegas, hissing and high idle are classic signs of vacuum leak. You need to verify that the sealing surfaces are clean and re-torque all of the bolts.

I should be getting my intake manifold and tb in the mail today from ARD, cant wait so I can take it to be powdercoated and slapped back on.. now if i can just get the quaife in the tranny and slap on the cm stg 4 and bolt her back in, we'll be in business.
