Just buy a filter and attach it to your stock pipe! You bet more power with-out the hassle. I just swaped out my RS-AKIMOTO (piss of Sh*t) for a stock intake with a reactive filter.

According to the seat and butt dyno/ speed o meter. I am making more power with this setup than my aftermarket intake.

My second gear now takes me up to 72/3 before shifting (instead of 69/70mph)

I can feel my mid range is greatly improved as well.

cleaning my throttle body after that (POS) probably made the biggest differance but trust me.

IT IS A PIPE. WHY SPEND 200 ON A TUBE?

Spoon doesn't make intakes, Jun doesn't make intakes. WHY? waste of time and money!

More horsepower from the stock intake tube?? I think not. You might be at the same level as if you had an aftermarket intake tube but I seriously doubt more hp. Besides, I personally like the looks of my intake. And not to mention the sound. It goes back to personal preference, what YOU want to do to your car. Id rather open my hood and have people see my shiny intake with AEM on the top then show them my stock plastic intake tube with a filter on the end of it. But like I said, that is my preference.......

actualy just so you know spoon does not actualy make anything they just put there name on other poeple stuff and sell it for a higher price. Also I thought speed was determind by gearing not by hp.

you have to rememberyour intake is made of metal it will be a giant heat sink. Heating your intake air.

Your right its up to preferance though.

well I personally took my cold air setup off and went back to just having the airbox mod w/ K&N and I didnt feel a drop in power at all, well except for at highway speeds cuz I had the ram air thing goin on. It may be like that because its cold outside, but its fine for now. I plan on going turbo in the future anyway and I dont see the point in buying something Im just gonna sell later.

Weird, I stuck a cone filter on my stock pipe and felt no difference or sound difference. Could be because I got it like a day after my muffler and was still used to its increase.

I'm guessing a cone filter is a cone filter, right?

Or do what I did and give my metal intake a coating of ceramic based paint. But the air flow on a tube style intake is far better than the stock accordian tube add a resonator piping. You being auto may not see the higher end advantages because of an aftermarket intake as much as others but there's no way I would switch my intake back to stock.

Oh wow what magic intake is this that changes your gear ratios for you? Even if the stock piping did give you more power, you wouldn't ba able to acheive a higher top speed in any particular gear, you would just get there faster. You could have 500 horses in your car, but the top of second gear would be the same as if you had 140 horses. Unless, of course, you change your gear raitos.
