The Hurricane shifter is awesome. I have the newer extra short design.

I have the pilot motorsports short throw. Unfortunately, I have nothing to compare it to, but it's BAD ASS! I noticed the difference in throw immediately. Also, that short throw is almost the same height as the stock shifter. My friend and I are going to cut it and weld it back together, but it works great! Love it.

I just installed the Hurricane_GS and Symborski shift kit last night.
Love them both.
Also did the new boot mod from Hurricane_GS too.

Yeah. actually rather simple and once you see it, fairly intuitive.
With the console off the car, push the boot all the way inside out to the other side. Like, if it was in the car, you are pushing the boot to the ground through the floor of the car.
You should then see the rubber ring thing being held in place by a zip-tie. Carefully cut off the tie and push the ring in up to about 2 inches. You can cut the extra boot material or just fold it in (I just folded). Re-fasten with a new zip tie and presto, short shift boot mod!
Props and kudos to, once again, Hurricane_GS!
It's free, 'cept for the the zip-tie. What more can you ask for?
Before you fastent the new zip-tie, feel around the rubber ring and you should be able to feel a groove where the old zip-tie was. Make sure that the new one is centered in the middle of the groove. Pushing the ring does take a little elbow grease, but it will move.
Hope this helps. And again, this originated from Hurricane_GS, not me.
