I've got pics of the top of our 420a block w/o the head on it. now i just need to get theirs with out the head on. so far it seems like everything will fit. Only a few things worry me. 1 being if there is any extra length to the block. the mounts seem to be EXACTLY like our i am not sure about the rear tho. so far everything looks good. I just gotta find out about ECU's and sensors now. Nick or myself will update you guys.

if we got our engines bored .20 giving us 2.2 and we added a 2.4 block......could that possibly give us 2.6?

if you're thinking a standard overbore for new pistons (.020) - it's not going to give you anywhere close to .2L .

As for .20 .. Have you ever seen how thin our cylinder walls are to begin with? That's a LOT of metal to remove, and i still doubt it would give you .2L.

After posting the thread at stratusphere.org last night, we got a reply saying that someone has already done the 2.4L swap on their 420a Avenger and turboed it.

Sounds like good news, but they said to contact a member on that baord "Glacius", but I dont see him in their registry.

This is what the webmaster at Stratusphere.org wrote...

"Glacius, our resident ASOG guy, has done just this on his turbocharged Avenger.

He has the same 420A 2.0 you folks have, except that he has installed a 2.4 head on it. He also had to replace the cams, so that the flow thru the head was reversed to match the 'backwards' intake/exhaust manifolds on the DSMs.

So yes, it can be done. Give him a shout or a PM. Check the main forum under "2.4 Turbo Pics" - he's got a shot of his engine bay in there... "

That wouldn't work, then the turbo would have to be in the back. Our head should bolt on to their block though.
