its dies while driving.... cant even get out of the parking lot without it dying... its fine in idle, it can sit for hours, but once you shift out of park a few seconds later it dies and its not even warm yet...we changed out the fuel pump and put in a VR4 fuel pump it works good and the ECU and we still have the same problem... so i don't know what to do... if anyone knows anything about this please help i am desperate to get her up and running again.

Hey Trisha, I had the exact same problem last month. The car would start and run fine at idle, but as soon as I tried giving her some throttle, she would die. It almost sounded like gas wasn't getting to the engine. I had it towed to the dealer(warranty) and they got an error code "no crank sensor found". I don't know where this sensor is, but the tech said that when the car was idleing and he would touch this sensor, the car would die. After replacing this, it's been running fine. Now last year I had the same problem and the dealer couldn't get any error codes from the car. They replaced the ECU, cam position sensor, and the fuel relay pack. It ran fine for 6 months before the first problem described above. I'm not sure if these could be your problems or not, I just wanted to give you some info that might help. ECUs have been known to go wacky also, you might want to start from there. Good luck!

Trisha, do you notice any other symptoms? Does it smell rich? I was thinking it might be the Fuel pressure regulator. That is the problem on my friends car now. it idles fine and once you give it steady throttle it dies. you can rev it in short blips of throttle but nothign steady of it chokes out. Too mnuch fuel or too little.

Could be a bad coil... not holding enough charge at anythign but idle rpm?

Good luck, need to get yoru car running so we don't miss you at the shootout.

It's possible, I'll write in the test for that sonsor when I get home from work tonight. I don't know if this will be it since you said it idles okay, I would think if the cam sensor was bad then even idle would be messed up. I can give you a test for your coil if you want too. If I have time tonight I'll take a look at the wiring diagrams and see what other sensora are in the loop... You don't get any codes huh? Nothing for TPS or MAP?

That's it I'm driving down to Texas emoji

A friend of mine was having the same problem with his car. It wasn't a DSM product but same symptoms. The codes were all pointing to the TPS. It ended up being the wire to the TPS was frayed somehow. That will do it since the engine will not know what angle the throttle is really at. I would check that sine you have checked and/or replaced some pretty major stuff already. It's a quick and easy fix.

Trisha, it sounds like the TPS to me. You have checked the codes and there are none? The crank sensor would probably work or not work, not just work at idle.
GOOD LUCK

what year is your car? I know I had to do a lot of cutting (AND some customization to the bracket) to fit my Stealth Turbo's pump in my 97.

Bring it on...........

Its a 95, the pump was bigger no cutting of any kind just maneuvering it so that it would fit perfectly
