I just thought it might be worth looking into. I now know I was kidding myself on a custom turbo kit, and the venom intake just looks good. I might get one and test it at the track. Its like $300 or so, but if it dont do shit i'm fucked.

I dont know why someone would lie about a track test, but who knows. just wanted everyone to tell me what they think.

When ever I learnded how a turbo and supercharger worked, I always wondered about just some kind of fan or airpump into the intake. I'm now more interested in it than ever. What about some custom fan (better then the pc fan in it) and a stronger electric motor. I think the true 2GNTers (those still NT) should work together and see if we can come up with something good.
The electric part is nice cause we good turn it on or off whenever.

I got it, I came up with something that has proven to work. No joke. So far its yielding great numbers... Here are the links.

www.turbogs.com
www.hahnracecraft.com

Turbochargers that actually work!

Dont waste your time with that shit, if it was that good people would use it. Every who has used it said it sucked. My point is, it sucks.

I thought it looked like .... but I just wanted to know if anyone had tryed it. The only idea i've ever thought of would be:

Get a self contained supercharger and turn the pulley on it with an electric motor. i've never felt how har it is to turn on and then it would be just to many RPM to turn it at. You could use different size pulleys to create more speed but you would have are hard time finding out what RPM you are turning it at.

If you could really get it to work it would be sweet, no turbo lag or a supercharger taking power to make it. If a supercharger's pully moves easly it might be worth looking into. You could mount it any where and even intercool it. I dont know how much superchargers are but Prochargers do require you to hook up oil lines and such.

It sounds kinda far fetched and you would probably fuck your engine over. But let me know what you think.

the problem that occurs is that in order for an electric motor to power a fan or compressor turbine, it takes MASS amounts of power. like your motor would have such a hard time turning the alternator (unless you just plain fry the alternator) that it would negate any benifits of the system.

I could go look up a link i read a while back that explained out everything scientifically why it wouldn't work.

oh yeah, and this is the only one I've seen that MIGHT work
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/
and it's supposed to not overload the electrical system cause it only turns on at WOT through a N20 style throttle trigger switch.. and pulls the power directly from the battery, and since it only runs for a few seconds when you aren't using it your alternator will charge the battery of any power that it took. These guys also aren't claiming outragous amounts of increase, only 5 - 15hp. They have some interesting and semi-convincing stuff on their site too.

Here is the bottome line:

It's pretty much impossible to get any gains from an electric motor/fan combination. The physics just dont allow for it to flow enough air and build any kind of pressure.

There are some really powerful motors in R/C, those ducted fan electric planes can go 100+mph, I know they are light, but the velocity must be faster than the plane, here's a good electric jet site http://www.electricjetfactory.com/. The best to use would be ducted fans that run on the nitro engines, they are like 3 to 4 in wide and use powerful motors. I have a question regarding turbochargers. Why do they use radial compressors and not axial like jets do?

OK EVERYONE IS BASHING BUT THIS MIGHT BE FOOD FOR THOUGHT, SOME OF YOU MIGHT ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS BUT JUST TAKE A LOOK!!

http://www.electricsupercharger.com/

Think about it, its a 700 watt motor for fuck sake it has to have some power.

Actually I was thinking of putting a jet into a car. I wouldn't use the thrust, I would use a driveshaft like on turboprops. There was an indy car that used a jet, sounds crazy. You could get a lot of power from a turbine, just no upgrades so what ya get is what ya get!
