Ok

So i just went to get my car back from the shop after they did the timing belt.

On the paper it says "idle ruff?"

and what he said was "did you put cams or a chip in it? it sounds like a race car when it idles" after saying no, I got in the car and teh car kinda shudders when it idles. It's not quite a shake it just undulates, a little and idles around 750-800, but the needle quivers a little.

Now any ideas guys? I haven't done anything to the car yet, i was waiting till after i got this service done......He said to bring it back tomorrow cause i've never had it do that before.......just some questions i thought i'd ask you guys what you thought maybe i could give him ideas where to look.

i bet they put the belt back on and skipped a tooth on the cams. that's what usually happens

great i get another full day w/o my car. wth

they should give me some money back after paying that much money for it..how bad a deal is it if thats teh problem. I mean could i drive it to get some dinner? :-p otherwise i'll be cranky ABND hungry tomorrow when i take my car in.

Now i am REALLY mad. I ran to get some food, and the effin cel came on. can't figure the key dance out....but i bet it has something to do with something they broke! They will pay damn them!!!

Like jamesman said, they probably didn't line the timing belt up with the cam gear teeth right (this WILL cause a CEL). That means you have stock non-adjustable adjusted cams gears...lol

ok sorry to harp on this subject...before i take it in tomorrow, any ideas what i should have them check. could anything be messed up. I want them to fix anything this could have hurt in the 10 miles i drove it. i'm pissed

be reaaly nice to her on the way to the dealer. they will check your cel. if u have 95-97, key dance will work, there is a link on the main page.

they will hook your ecu up and datalog her when u bring her in, just no racin on the way there ;->

if it idles weird, and your idle vacuuummm is off if you got a gauge to check etc... like james said, they must have skipped a tooth thats whats happen to me... P1390 is the code for a skipped tooth... =)
