#15483, "AFX Throttle body on an AT?"

do any of the AT guys have the AFX bored throttle body?
can you tell me what your experience with it is?
is there noticeable increase in performance? did gas consumption increase (maybe a dumb question.. but just had to ask)

is this just a mod for those who race?

even on AT, it will at the very least increase your responsiveness when pressing down the accelerator.

And it should work the same way.. like putting an intake increased how much air you get... opening up your tb will do it even more.

Well since quite a few guys with manual cars were having idle problems with the throttle body (it wasn't sealing right), I would not get it for an auto. Idle problems would be even worse on an auto, unless it sealed perfectly...

WHAT!!! if its not sealing properly send it back to what ever f&*K up bored it out and made the butterfly plate cause they suck at machining. This mod should not cause problems with your idle unless the throttle body plate was done incorrectly. by all means get it for your auto, it works wonders if done correctly, which I guess howell is not doing if thats where everyone is getting theres done at..

back when i had a 420a.. I got mine from howell-AF/X. worked great, no problems at all. First time I ran the car after the install the idle jumped up, but as soon as I hit the gas a few times it went right down to where it was supposed to, and I never had a problem with it since.

I had no problems with mine when I was automatic. Still don't as a manual. Fairly easy to install and definitely makes the car peppier.

100 bucks for a bored throttle body from howell is the way to go. not a lot for hp but a quicker throttle gas response, ESPECIALLY for the auto. never had problems with mine and shouldnt if done right. -joe
