#1547, "Headers question"

Hey all

I bought a set of headers from someone on e-Bay. My questiuon is what brand are they. I cant find the person that sold them to me since it was back in September. They are in 3 pieces. The header,{4to2} then a 2nd piece {2to1} then a single piece that connects to the Cat. I think they are from Pacesetter but I am unsure. If anyone has something similar let me know please!

Thanks all

Marc

Probably need more details to make a decision. Color? Steel or Stainless steel? Braided flex section or ball+cup type? I've got a picture of some Pacesetter headers at "http://members.nbci.com/cbehnken/head4.html"

if they are black they are pacesetters, if they are chrome they are either kamikaze, kombat, or HP motorsports (miyako), stainless steel is greddy, shiny ceramic is brospeed or hotshot and straight ceramic is neuspeed

but, rule out greddy, neuspeed, hotshot and brospeed, if it were one of those 4 you would know it

Update:

No flex section, "ball and cup" mating section. They were a grayish color when I got them. I had to clean them up and I recoated them with a silver header paint. The link didnt work Corbin. Can you try and repost it?

thanks all

Marc

I looked at your web site. Pretty cool. I did see a pic of your headers there. Except for the color they look exactly like mine. I need to call that comapny and get a new gasket for the 4-2 mating point. The auto parts stores dont have anything. I am thinking about wrapping my headers too. How much header tape did it take you to do your's? And what kind did you buy?

thanks

Marcus

My opinion... don't use header wrap, if moisture gets under it, and there is bare metal they will rust, and they will rust fast.

I got thermotech header wrap. 2x50'...used half of it. I used pipe clamps to secure the ends. Moisture wasn't a problem for me. I had it on there for a couple years in a moist environment (by the river) without any problems with rust. If you drive your car enough, moisture gets evaporated before it can do much. Try to get the gasket from the dealer. The Pacesetter gasket is crap. I also had to use Mega Copper hi-temp silicon to seal it up.
