I get free service at my school, but I pay for parts.
I was thinking head gasket for sure. Also I might squeeze or else go turbo within a year (MIGHT) so should I get a thicker head gasket or no. I have 44,000 miles on my car, maybe I should just get timing belt taken care of now while it is free.

getting a thicker head gasket will lower compression.. which is great for when you have a turbo.. but if you're still NA, at the best, it won't change performance.. but most likely it'll just hurt your performance.

Make a list of things to do...the more labor intensive it is the better....you could even take your list to local shops to see how much you'll be saving. I swear labor for my head gasket was something like $300, but I can't remember specifically. If your head hasket isn't leaking, don't bother it ("if it aint broke, don't fix it"). You could upgrade the bottom end, a stroker kit, cam gears, UDP, cam shafts, installing a turbo would be great w/o labor cost...
