#15452, "Clean your battery terminals."

Like many other people I never clean my battery terminals. I have sprayed them with the battery cleaner but I havent ever taken off the terminal to clean it really good. Well this morning when I went to go to work my car would not start. I had to have my roommate come down and help me push start it. I went to work and bought a new batery at lunch time. I put the battery in and it still wouldnt start. So i push started the car again to get home. When I got home I took off the terminal and it was in really bad shape. I sanded the inside of it and sprayed it with the battery cleaner. And finally it started! I stil had my stock battery from 1997 in the car so it was time for a new battery anyway. So the moral of the story is CLEAN YOUR BATTERY TERMINALS.

when you tried to start your car did the starter make any noises at all?? That happened to me and I bought a new battery as well and it still persisted. What got me was that the positive terminal was dirty as hell even though I cleaned it about a week ago. The problem has gone away for now though, so I hope that is finally the end of it all.

Sounds like the same thing happened to you. You should take off thre positive terminal and sand the inside of it till it is really clean. It will keep happening if you do not clean it well. And no it did not make any noise when i tried to start it. It had zero power.
