Blue smoke means your burning oil. How many miles do you have? Do a compression test.

could be several problems that would cause oil to get into the compression chamber.. can be bad rings, head gasket.. or someother stuff I can't remember.. but yeah, start with a compression test.

No you can do a compression test. The tester you can rent from an auto parts store. Disconnect fuel pump relay and screw the tester into the spark plug wells crank the engine a few time and see what pressure she holds.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before.. but when ya do the compression test and ya crank the engine over a few times.. make sure you push the throttle to the floor when you do it. I'm not sure if it'd make a difference, but I would THINK that it would.

maybe ya don't have to.. anyone got a yes or no on this?

I've never pushed the throttle down on a compression test before, don't see a need. You're stillpulling in air.

The way I do a comp test is to simply unplug the coil pack (this will give a code!) and remove all plugs. run the tester down in there and crank it over until you reach the highest reading. Usually a drunken buddy is helpful. He can crank while you watch the gauge. You're burning oil, but it can be anything from cracked piston/ring failure to your PCV valve hanging up and transforming your engine to an oil pump. It sounds to me like you might have some valves not sealing or maybe ring failure. Def do a comp. test and DON'T take it to a dealer. There's no real way to get an honest answer when they do a comp test. I've had horror stories when people take neons in for leaks and they say "Oh the enigine is shot" when it really needed a headgasket or cam seal.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

My compression tester says to open the throttle ALL THE WAY while running the test. This makes perfect sense because if the throttle plate is closed, how is the engine going to get enough air to have an accurate reading?

that's what I thought.. you'd get a pretty heavy vacuum and then your engine actually wouldn't be compressing as much air. cause it wouldn't be pulling in as much on the down stroke before the compression stroke.
