A cold air intake puts the fiter down low and off to the side, so it pulls colder outside air that has not been heated up by the engine compartment into the motor. colder air has more oxygen molecules in in and colder air compreses more combustionmaterial into the engine creating more power. They also have higher flowing air filters allowing more air to be pulled into the engine.
