I just wanted to know what HP gains you are looking at with an aftermarket ignition. Like MSD or Crane. and has anybody got one a dyno?

Maybe .5 hp. LOL...Ignitions do not add any significant hp. The only reason you would need an ignition would be if you wee running over 15psi and need to pull timing.

I'd have to say -2 horsepower, since it is excess, unnecessary weight. Unless you're running NOS or something, you don't need it.}>

If it sucks so bad than why do so many people have one? and how in the hell do you this? Have you dyno tested one? What is the stock voltage at the coil? The MSD sounds good, plus you got the rev control for good launches, and a retard if you want NOS. I just dont understand why alot of people would pay $320 + 50 + tax or shipping almost $400 and it loose HP. Please explain yourself........

An ignition system is not a needed item unless you have turbo or nitrous. You don't LOSE or GAIN any HP with it. The MSD fires the spark plug Multiple times during each crankshaft cycle. This allows for a smoother idle and better fuel economy. At higher rpms the unit can retard the ignition timing which causes the spark plug to fire just a LITTLE bit later than stock so it's safer to run nitrous or higher boost levels.
