Because most cars also have the gas fillon the right and there is only so much space above the suspension, why run both hot exhaust pipe and gas fill tube next to each other if you don't have to.

might have something to do with the fact that our engine is switched around from most cars too. Seems like all other cars have the trans on the other side. just a thought.

Left? Right? Standing behind the car they are on the left.

The weird thing is that on 1gs they are on the right, and the gas door is on the left, opposite of 2gs...

When I switch between the 1g and 2g alot I keep on forgetting on which side of the gas pump to pull up to emoji

I don't know why they changed the exhaust from right to left, never really thought about it either emoji

Aren't most car's exhausts on the right like ours?
Cavaliers types and Camaros types are, most Mitsubishis are, most Hondas have them on the same side too, don't they?

that gas door location is a bitch, thats a lot of walkin to do just to put gas in the car!

It was under the impression it purely has to do with fuel tank filler location as mentioned already. I remember wondering this once and then studying a lot of cars and that is what I figured out at least.
