is there anyway i can upgrade my lifters and valves and valve springs? i hear about these stainless steel or something. what about those lifter s and stuff that are on the howell automotive site. the pt. dunno what they are called.

You can replace the lifters and rockers with the new improved ones that are in the PT cruiser. These have been redesigned because they were breaking, especially at high rpm use. The PT valve train is supposed to be able to handle 8000+ rpm no problem.

There are stainless steel valves available. The best thing to do if you are replacing valves is to get 1 to 2 mm oversized valves for better flow.

Any of the valvetrain componants that are available for the neon will work with our cars EXCEPT the cams.

If I was wanting to rework my valvetrain now, but didnt want to pull the head again right now, could I just get stock sized valves until i pull the head again later down the road and work it over? I was thinking ferra racing valves, Pt cruiser lifters and rockers, and a Crane valve spring and retainer set.

you can't replace your valves without removing the head.

With the right tools you could replace everything on the head (Cams, gears, valve springs, lifters, rockers) without removing the head but to changethe valves the head has to come off.

Thanks, no I guess I missed that post. I'll upload that one when I get home. What program did you use? I tried reducing it with a couple and it just got grainy.

No prob, I used Photoshop 6. Some of the cheaper programs do not do a good job of reducing so that it gets all grainy and distorted looking. It could look better than what I did, but I wanted to keep the size under 30 kb.
