ok here is what i have so far. ram air intake ,NGK plugs, AF/X underdrive puley.. i was thinkin about putting a bored out throttle body and then changin the intake to a AEM cold air . with bypass. what about exhuast. im wanting to get a high flow cat but not sure which kind. and im not sure about the cat back. how big should i go . i dotn want to lose any kind of back pressure or low end. any and every opinion is welcome.

i would do some sort of cat back, the cheapest is a use gst exhaust. i have an apex-i n1, and i've never been unhappy with it. with a n/a car the biggest most go with the exhaust is 2.5in. on a turbo 3in is good. bored t/b is good too. not too sure about the highflow cat. unless you are planning to boost it wont help you out unless you are going hardcore all-motor. i would also go with some good plugwires, i have magnecore, and i accually felt a difference in the upper rpm's. hope it helps.

definately exhaust. Im sorry but I dont see point in porting your throttle body or getting a GST muffler. Now porting your head is another thing. Just get a Apexi or Greedy catback and leave it at that. Good luck -Dave

The point in getting a GST exhaust is that you can get one VERY cheap or often free. Plus, you won't loose any “low-end” and you loose some backpressure.

I would say do an exhaust of some kind as well. Another option besides getting a gst muffler or going all out and spending 500 bucks on an exhaust is to get a pacesetter catback and put a universal muffler on it. A lot of people on the board have this set up and enjoy it. I personally spent less than 150 on my entire exhaust system (got used pacesetter piping for 50 bucks), and I LOVE the sound. I get compliments from everyone who hears it.

well i dont really want ot lose anything. and i dont wont nothing to loud. i already have a pep boys brand muffler the 3A racing. which everyone that has heard it likes it but it is kind of loud. especialy when it has warmed up and is idling. i just wont something that will sound good while at high rpms and that is a little quiet when im am sitting still or letting my car warm up in the mornin. the whole neighbor hood can hear me come and go . lol. what about getting a muffler shop to make me one. will that help any? jason

If the muffler you have is too loud, have an exhaust shop add a glass pack muffler as a resonator to quiet the sound some. It really helped a lot with mine.

Anyone have links to some good mufflers(exhaust) for under 150? I'm looking for a good performing muffler, but I don't want to pend an arm and a leg. I've been having trouble finding a gs-t muffler anywhere, and I might as well try to find one i can buy for new.
