damn guys, i know its the weekend but I really need some help with this. I took my battery to get checked and it is supposedly good. I cleaned the terminals with a wire brush and they are sparkling. It is still doing it and Im at a lost. My stepdad told me it might be the altenator and a way to check it would be to disconnect one of the terminals on the battery and if the car still runs the altenator is good and if it dies its bad. Well it kept running so im guessing its good. So could it be the starter?? Oh yeah, today when I went out to turn the car on it did the im not working thing for a while and when i finally got it to crank I turned my radio on and all of my saved radio channels were gone like the battery was disconnected. I dunno, please help me out emoji

You can load test your battery and alternator at most shops. I would bet it is your battery. This is the cheapest thing to replace and is the most common to wear out. I have one rule when it comes to batteries. When they fail at starting my car even once(barely turn over), they get replaced asap. A weak battery will also cause your alternator to work harder than it is suppose to.

Dude: buy a new battery. Optima red top is my favorite, interstate is a good choice also.

thanks for replying, but I found the problem. My posts were so dirty that the car couldnt get power from the battery. Once i cleaned them and got the car started and let it run for a while everything was fine. I havent had a problem with it since.
