#14232, "Tension Pulley on Power Steering Belt"

Hey Guys,
This summer I had to replace the tensioner pulley for the a/c,power steering belt,, coupe of weeks ago it started squeeling again... i tightened the belt , that didn't work,, i changed the belt,, the belt broke, got another belt and its still sqeeling so i just ordered another tensioner from the dealer for 150 bucks, does anyone else have trouble with these?
Here's a tip that i found with getting parts from the dealer here in PA. If you get the part from a dodge/jeep/eagle dealer,, they are about 30 bucks less than from the mitsubishi dealer.

The underline question is,, what could be causing my tension pulley bearing to be going out?

No UDP,
if you look at the belt now from the font of the car you can see that its at a slight angle.. Is it supposed to be like that?.. I just had my timing belt changed a month ago ,, i wonder if they could of bent one of my pully's try to get to the timing belt

all your pulleys, alt, p/s, and a/c if u got it should be lined up (parallel) with the crankshaft dampener pulley. that what turns the belts.

the pulley might be warped, only way to tell is if u take off belt and spin it.

since u said the belt was at an angle, that would lead me to beleive either the crankpulley isnt torqued down to spec or u need a new pulley.

how long ago did u do timing belt? was it at satan? they wudda probably mentioned it.

see that it is torqued down if the pulley isnt warped.

hope that helps

It seems that everyday someone else runs into the same problem I am having. I am in the process of getting a new tensioner pulley assembly myself.

Hmm mine squeaked for a while I think i just changed all my belts and it fixed it. I make sure and tighten it once in a while when it gets loose. Mine used to be like urs just make sure you don't tighten it too much, or else you'll wear out the bearing. I put some *GASP* belt dressing on the pulley and it seems to have gone away also. So try some belt dressor on the tensioner (NOT THE BELTS). I don't condone the use of belt dressing but I'm saying it may have helped lubricate my tensioner pulley.
