On our GSX the belt flipped upside down once. Was very very weird. At about 3000rpm the accessory lights would fade on and got brighter the higher the rpms were. Freaked us out. We still don't know how or why that happened, but the belt was almost new and didn't have a twist in it or anything. The strangest thing was when we took the belt off it wouldn't go back on. It was simply too short. We have no clue what was going on emoji We bought another belt (exactly the same brand and serial #) and it was about 2 inches longer! Somehow it must have shrunk... It still has a squeeling problem, but it never flipped again...

After I had my timing belt replaced the dealer replaced both of the belts also. About one month later I noticed my powersteering was going out and squeeling really bad. when I looked, the belt was inside out and stretched. I just assumed the dealer put it on that way, but maybee it did flip on me????? just one more reason I will never let any shop do any work on my car anymore.
