#14053, "power steering belt squeling and being weird..."
Hello,
Well, let me start with what happened before this. I was at the street races and decided to race an accourd. Anyways, after smoking him I was turning around when I noticed I didn't have power steering. So I took it to a shop and they said the tensioner bearing had locked up and the tensioner had broken. So they replaced all that. Anyways, ever since then when I turn the wheel all the way it starts to squel and when I rev the engine to anywhere above 5000 it squels. Also, when the wheel is turned all the way the belt stops moving for a moment every once and awhile then keeps going, and it squels the entire time. Any fix?

I don't know if it's related, but every time i race i loose my PS belt, you should see my belt now, it has literally chunks biten off it. i really hate it.
But my question is, since you replaced the tensioner pulley, have you raced, have you gone to the 7K RPM's range when it used to snap the belt off. i'm trying to know if changing this pulley would eliminate the belt spitted out of it's location.

you probably just need to add some tension to the belt. try adjusting the tension screw but remember to loosen the nut the holds the pulley to the bracket or you will snap it; i found this out the hard way. you can also get a can of belt dressing from the auto store and spray the belt. that should help to eliminate squeaking.

Oh, the infamous PS/AC belt. Jeff_TX and I and others are in the same position. I had the same exact problem and found out it was the tensioner pulley bolt that was bent then it snapped off.
So ya, sounds like you need to just tighten it up a bit. And remember to what Jeff said about that nut to loosen, very important. So when you took it to the shop to fix it how much did they charge you for the new adjustment assembly?
