#13990, "JEN OR CODY - intake question."

I was surfin through your site, and I saw a pic in the 1995, it's an old one, but you guys have the SAME EXACT intake I have, I took mine off though because it was rubbing the battery tiedown causing the intake to get a hole in it, how did you guys rig yours?

I have the AEM short ram... I had to take off the cover that goes around the battery to keep things from rubbin' under there. Hope this helps!

I am starting to have the same problem. I am just going to find something to wrap the battery tie down with so it doesnt wear a hole in my intake. Or I could just leave it and let that be a good excuse to get a cold air....

I am not Jen or Cody but they live down the street from me. Last I knew they didn't do anything special. It had a bracket to tie to the battery holder but I think it broke off due to vibration.

Jen is the owner of the '95, but she doesn't post a lot on this board because of the other cars they have. The '95 is more of a daily driver for them. The best way to get them is to e-mail them.

I'm here emoji

Yes, after messing with that POS for a while, we ended up breaking that metal bracket off that connects to the battery tie down.

I found an real easy solution to keep it from rubbing against the battery tie down though! emoji We put a piece of hose over that bar. The hose is pretty thick (about 1/4" ), so it kind of makes a cushion for the intake when it rubbs against that bar. Since we put that hose over that bar it also pushes the intake further to the left, but causes more pressure against the bar and keeps it from moving around and rubbing also.

Do I make any sense? If you want I can go and take some pics for you too.

pics would be greatly appreciated, thanks! I have some extra vaccum hose line (like the kind that connects from the intake to the valvecover hole...) can I use that for cushion? it's kinda thick, I remember trying to use it before, but i go so pissed with it, I gave up before even getting it half on

I will get you some pics as soon as I can. It's always already dark when I come home from work, so I might not be able to take them until the weekend though.

I think I actually used some left over hose that came with the intake. You can see the yellow peice that connects the intake to the valve cover and I'm almost sure I used the rest of it. With the intake pushing against that "cushion" now, it sits in there very snugg and doesn't move around at all emoji

Look at the bar next to the battery on the tie down, You'll see red that's where I put vaccuum hose over so the contact between the intake and tie down bolt isn't there anymore. Yes I know red vaccuum hose over a red battery....
