#13934, "Where can I purchase a 420a ?"

I am aquiring a 1996 Mitsu Eclipse RS. It has 116k miles on it.

I am planning on swapping it out for a motor with lower mileage. Anyone know where I can find a good deal ?

yea, since you're getting the car for so cheap.. might as well splurge on some rebuild kit and perhaps a turbo. =)

Ya, you might want to see how Howell Automotive is coming along with there Stroker kit. Thats what I want to get when I rebuild. But do a compression test on it to see what condition the engine is in. But if don't want it stroked just go with a the rebuild kit from http://howell.mountain.net/Talon/DSMEngineKits.html

But if you still want to get a lower milage motor check the parts trader.

Hey guys. Thanks for replying...you all are so much more helpful than the ppl at eclipseclub.com/forums....ugh

But anyways.. The thing is, I plan to rebuild, turbo and all that good stuff. But...the motor has been driven pretty hard. My friend has raced his eclipse alot. He is asking for 3500 dollars...not bad if you ask me..

But I dunno if rebuilding it would be smart since its been raced..and somewhat abused etc.

If you clean it up and do a total rebuild you'll be fine. Upper and lower rebuild... For the price of what the car would have cost you in good condition, have a nice motor ready for some real power

Actually being race is not a bad thing. Most big block and domestic racers go after really "weathered" or "seasoned" blocks. It proves reliablitly and the ability to take shit some other blocks couldn't.

Shit is all apart. Typical...
