I picked up a set of NGK BKR5EYA-11 plugs. Are these okay as the hotter mod plug or do I specifcally need the BKR5E-11s? Anyone know?
I checked out what all the letters stand for on the ngk website www.ngksparkplugs.com
under Tech Info and from what I can tell, other than them being V-Power plugs, there is not much difference. Any insight would be appreciated.

Letters explained:
Go here, and click the last question on the page for the letter designation of the NGK plugs:

Q: What do the numbers and letters in a
part number represent?

But basicially,
Y - is for the V-Grooved center electrode
A - is for special design, whatever that means.
Hope this helps.

If you really can't find the normal plugs, I would go ahead and try these new ones. All of the important digits are the same. I don't think it can hurt. If you search hard enough, you really should be able to find the regular plugs.

Yeah, dig around your local parts stores. I buy my bkr5e-11 plugs at robins auto parts. They are always there!

Thanks.
What the heck, I'll try these out when my new Magnecors arrive and let everyone know if I blow up or not.
In the meantime, hoping for not.
