Just found this article about New Process Gear in DeWitt, NY, on the east side of Syracuse. New Process Gear was closed by Magna in 2012. If it was the former assembly technicians at New Process Gear who built my transaxle, I thank them for 170K miles of reliable service:

All those jobs being lost. Was it this company that build our stock transmissions? I didn't read through the history fully. And I was unclear on whether they built stock transmissions or if they did custom bits and parts as well.
