I recently removed my coolant temperature sending unit from my thermostat housing when I took off the head to address the head gasket. The dash needle doesn't read anything. I used a tester and put the positive needle on the sending unit and negative needle on the thermostat housing where it grounds. I had juice. So this means I'm getting power to the sensor? I guess I have a faulty sender?

No. We're talking about the single wire just below the coolant temp sensor where the waterneck and thermostat area is. That single black wire is what sends the signal to the water temperature needle gauge.
All you need to do is go look see if you see that wire unplugged and plug it back in.

Thanks for the extra information. The car is a few hours away from me and that's why I didn't just go out and look for the wire myself. I will be back to where the car is on Saturday so I'll hopefully find what you're talking about. Thanks again.

I believe you guys were right! I looked where you said to and there was a connector just to the right of the power steering pump and below the thermostat housing. In the past, someone had broke the connector so it looks like they tore back the wire insulation until they had more wire to work with. Then they put a plastic hose over it to sort of sandwich the wire around the end of the sensor. When I had taken everything apart for the head gasket, I noticed it would slip off really easily. I guess I will get a new connector are splice, solder, and heat tape it up as close to factory as possible (or even better).
