Hello everyone. Been awhile since I've been around here but I'm finally beginning to rebuild a stock motor. Long story short, I got a long block from a junkyard, all checked out well at the machine shop as expected with cross hatches still on cylinder walls (rebuilt recently I'm assuming). I'm having trouble deciding which piston rings to get after browsing around here for a couple weeks while it was in the shop. I'm thinking hastings, but for half the price, my friend mention NPR rings that he loves and has had nothing but great luck with for hondas. Money isn't a concern as I'm going to spend every penny to make this motor last a LONG time. So which would you guys recommend?
Another question I have is regarding lifters. My head now has a bad lifter, and the ticking really annoys the hell out of me. Would you guys reuse the lifters from the junkyard motor? I'm sure they're fine, just want a second opinion.

Just getting piston rings or pistons as well? Most forged aftermarket pistons will come with rings, and a rather good one at that for most applications

Thanks for the replies, I'm rebuilding it stock. I've given up on my goal for this motor as it is too expensive to get what I want out of it. Motor is being rebuilt 100% stock with oem components. I'm just looking for the best rings for stock application.

Ya, that's what I was leaning toward. Will order them tomorrow. what's your opinion on reusing lifters?

if it helps any, I just rebuilt my motor after 222k miles. i went with the npr rings and can let you know how it goes. i also reused my old lifters. i just let the lifters soak in oil the whole time till i was ready to put them in.
