#137716, "Too much lube?"

I got a car six months ago and it needed some work done. I used assembly lube on my lifters before I re-installed them. I used assy lube on everywhere metals touch so I thought the lifters would fall into that category. I didn't bleed them first. I started the car for about a minute and everything seemed fine. Now I've read a person should not use assembly lube on lifters as it is too thick and that I should do a compression check. What are your thoughts? Harm or no harm?

Thanks for reading.

I have used assembly lube on flat tappet lifters and hydraulic lifters. I have yet to have any problems in the engines I've built. As long as you did not fill them with assembly lube you will be fine. I am assuming they were used lifter that had been running in the motor before correct? If so they will still have a little engine oil in them. You should have bleed them and filled them with 5w-30 and used assembly lube to instill them in to the head.

Finish? What is this "finish" you speak of sir? Dsm's are never complete just temporarily put together.

97 eclipse gone but never forgotten Ill miss you money pit.
