I'm planning on removing my AC compressor, it's going out and I don't use it much so I figured why not remove it and see how much it improves the performance, my main question is the size of the new belt, but wanted to see if I could get some tips from anyone whose done this before.

There is no improvement in performance when removing the A/C compressor. You can just unbolt it and take it out, but you may need to remove the radiator fans and radiator to get enough clearance you take it out.

If you are putting the car on a weight-loss plan, removing the AC compressor is a "free" mod. I prefer having AC though. You do not need to remove the radiator fans or radiator, there are only 4 bolts IIRC and it drops easily. Remove the mount too, it's heavy. Might want to get a string and measure the length you'll need for the PS belt before you tackle this.

Belt is a 380K5 for stock pulley. Pretty sure I am using that size with my AFK too.

I removed the bracket, compressor, lines, evap canister, and condenser in front of the rad. I just undid the top rad brackets and tilted it back to gain access.

However, just removing the belt frees up the performance. I prefer AC, however it just didntt work well with cams and stock ECU removal.

One thing a friend of mine told me to look into was a bypass pulley, I guess you pull all of the ac components out and the pulley mounts to where the compressor once was so you'll get the weight reduction but you don't have to worry about sizing up a new belt. Or I could just pull it out and I figured I could tie a string around how I would run the new belt, to get an approximate size, and I was told I could just take into advance or autozone and they could find a belt that matched.

Or you could just go to Advance or Autozone and ask for a 380K5 belt, pay them 10.00, and be done with it.

Whats there to run? You go from crank to PS pump. There is only one way to run it.
