Hey Guys,

I am currently rebuilding my motor after being turbo on stock internals for about 2 years. Minus the cracked piston the motor looked pretty good.

I was wondering if anyone has ran into this strange wearing or dis-coloring on the cams:

I measured everything on the cam that exists in the specs and it all checks out exactly to specifications....

Should I be concerned?? I didn't plan on rebuilding the top end... yet.

Looks like surface rust. Is it rough to the touch? Does it scrape off with a fingernail?

How do the rollers on the rocker look?

It does not scrape off and it feels smooth (not indented or extruded)... Rollers and rockers look great.

I thought maybe it as from sitting around but I would let the car run for a little bit at least once a week if not more.

By the way... the picture i took is of the exhaust side cams... Intake side has a tiny bit of the same but not nearly as bad...
