#136358, "Coolant temperature sensor"

I had to replace my coolant temperature sensor when I rebuilt the engine originally because I broke the wires right at the connector. So, I went out to the junkyard and found a new connector, snapped it off, and soldered it into my current harness (My car is a 1999). I was under the impression that all the coolant temperature sensors were the same, therefore the connectors being the same, apparently I was mistaken. The connector/sensor for a 1999 is different than those from a 95-96 apparently. Because the sensors are different, are the resistance values different? The reason why I ask is because I have a brand new sensor and the values are not even close to what the manual has listed.

Anyone have any info on this or ever heard something close to this?

Thank you.

I wish I had blown it, believe me, I do...

Yes, Barza, it is different from 96+, so you may have better luck trying a connector & sensor from 97, 98, 99. Hopefully then the resistance values will be to spec.

Jeff.

Yeap, I got the connector and the sensor, but I am wondering about the values. The values for the sensor that I have are way off when compared to the ones listed in the manual.

Thanks for your response, though.
