#136325, "Engine dies when I come off throttle and in neutral."
Hi all,
I have to press the throttle a little when starting the car. If I don't the car will start and stall right away.
if I press the throttle in a little the car will start but stall as soon as I take my foot off the throttle.
If I do it slowly i can get the motor (unmodded 420A) idle like normal.
When driving as soon as I press in the clutch, the motor's rpm drops tp zero and shuts down.
I have to press both the throttle and brake to keep the car running.
I know the ECU keeps the idle up until the car reaches mph and I do have a bad speed control switch, acid leaked from the battery and messed the switch up pretty bad. I know that needs replacing.
But I do have speedometer readings
Wven with the bad switch, why would the car fail to start and run without having to press in the throttle in to keep the RPM up?
the Fault/CEL codes 12 42 25 55
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Most of what youre saying points towards the Idle Air Control motor. Might need replaced.
