#136219, "Codes after head swap" Mar-12-12 08:59 PM by junkyarddsm
So I swapped out my head last weekend and first I made a few big mistakes. First I forgot to tighten my cam gears and went 10 degrees advanced. I did not realize that had happen for a while as I got the car to run and drove it around the block. Once I got back realized how bad it was running. Once I got it all set back to 0 on both cams and started it I got 1 code that was a p1390. I checked the timing and i was of a tooth didn't think it was a big deal it was running good and the idle was nice at 800 rpm. To the point I drove the car for a week while I was waiting to tear back into it and fix it. I checked it out to day found that now I have three codes total. A p1294, p1390, p0134 all of the codes I checked and I have no idea why they came up. The car was running fine with no problems before I changed the head. I fixed the timing off a tooth (p1390) by advancing my exhaust cam 3 degrees. I have it idling at 890-1000 rpm normal for my car. I have also checked the IAC it is working fine and is set to the right spot. I have no clue why I would get the other two codes any though on why I got the codes? Also my mods are crane 12s, dual valves springs with ti retainers, full header back exhaust with cat, AEM cam gears, AF/X ecu, jeep 60mm throttle body, and cold air intake.
Finish? What is this "finish" you speak of sir? Dsm's are never complete just temporarily put together.
