#13541, "putting on udp at shop..."

hey I was just looking at vegasdsm website, very helpful stuff on there I might add, but I'm gonna have a shop put on my afx pulley when I have the timing belt done. I was reading on the website about how to put it on and you need to replace a shorter belt with a longer one, should I tell this to the guy at the shop or don't worry about it and let him be the mechanic. I'm just afraid he will tell me it didn't fit and not put it on. I know I read some peeps post that had it done at satan, well I'm thinking if satan can do it I shouldn't be worrying

all you guys with the afx pulley, do you all have washers on there like that vegas guy has on his directions. just thinking that maybe that is the difference of why it squeeks or not...does the dealer do something else to put the pulley on?

that vegas guy huh?

i guess i confuse peeps the way i write. u only need the washers to evenly distribute the force when puttin the pulley back on.

for a timin belt change, they have to take off the stocker anyways, so it isnt any extra labor, except for walkin to table, and grabbin the shiney pulley, not the heavy stocker when it comes time to put it all back together.

lotsa peeps talk smak about the bando belts that come w/the pulley.

i still have a bando on my alt, but a gator on my p/s a/c.

feel free to priint that shit, and give it to the mechanic, but if hes doin the timin belt, he should know where/how to install the udp.

mine also sports the bando belts and they do not squeal at all.
if your mechanic is worth anything, he would know what to do.

alright vegas guy, thanks lol that cleared up alot. So I don't need anything else but what comes with afx pulley? The mechanic is a good one and a good guy too, I was just wondering if he needed something else.

You a have a real helpful website going.
